Our first Pediatric Pearls podcast show is designed to help you as the listener get to know Dr. Ramey. Dr. Ramey is an osteopathic physician who trained in the Chicago area where she also completed her pediatric residency. Are you wondering what an osteopathic physician is? Well, I will explain it to you in the way that I feel is easiest to understand. Osteopathic physicians are fully trained physicians who receive the same training as allopaths (M.D. physicians). We then also receive additional training in musculoskeletal medicine and how there is a strong interplay between the skin, nerves, muscles, connective tissue, bones and organs of the body.

Dr. Ramey also explains her love for children and the fact of their innocence that has lead her into pediatrics. Her goal with Pediatric Pearls is to help educate parents on common childhood disease and also to give parents advise on how to keep their children healthy so that they can develop into thriving healthy adults with minimal disease risks.
